The Ladies Who Lunch become Ladies Who Happy Hour and all I got was this lousy photo?

Sadly, yes.

But I blame my school. Tonight was Back to School Night, which was great, but it was also the rescheduled date for Ladies Who Happy Hour, and I HAD to be there, so I pulled a move that would've shocked Emily Post. I went late. But Emily Post would've forgiven me in a heartbeat, because I brought along my highly pedigreed blogging friend Kathryn, whose wedding gown I recently helped restyle (if you're the squeeing type, you know what to do here). So because I was late, I felt a tad funny snapping photos in people's faces, ja kno? (Even Miss Manners wouldn't forgive that.)

We got to catch up with so many wonderful ladies... (who I haven't seen in ages)
Laura, Rose, Grechen, Becky, Cassiday, Diya, Paridhi, Esosa, and Joanna.

Nice to meet you, Joyce!

Missed seeing you, Sandhya, Sydney, Elia, Michelle and Anslee.

Thanks to Annie's for having us! Thanks to Grechen for organizing this amazing group of ladies!
And thank you, Google Images, for providing one more photo that I could use for this post. Since the only shot I took was of my cheeseburger.

I was so sad to miss, but I would have been terribly late. Next time!

Hi Amy!

Thanks for stopping by. :) I write 'literary' fiction (always feel really pretentious when saying that) - the book that Random House is releasing in Feb is based on my experiences growing up in Zimbabwe in the 1990s. But I did publish a children's book a few years ago, too. I would love to hear more about your novel and to talk writing with you - it's great to connect with another writer! Coffee sometime, maybe?

Andrea xx

(Haha, Double Rainbow. IT'S SO INTENSE.)

Yeah I don't understand how I came and left with my nice Nikon and got less than a handful of pathetic photos. I'm looking forward to the next one, which I personally think needs to get a little more casual and crazy.
