Friday Favorites, vol. 42

1. tomato soup (especially from La Madeleine)

(especially with grilled cheese sammies)

La Mad's basil tomato soup may or may not have had a buy-two-jars-get-one-free soup sale this past week. I may or may not have taken advantage of it.

2. technicolor bookcases

These bookshelves make me feel as happy as when you look at paint sample cards and you see all the gradients... The first person I saw who organized her bookshelves this way is my friend Sandhya. She didn't mind that I copied.
Ta da!

I need to set up a proper light if I want to take a decent shot. Maybe this weekend....

3. songs about snow

Especially Sarah McLachlan's In the Bleak Midwinter.

4. kelly green

5. car dancing

BONUS: A Cheeky Lemon.
A drink I accidentally invented when I threw together a few ingredients we had on hand: Simply Lemonade, Splash of vanilla-infused vodka, handful of tart red raspberries.

Voila! Cheeky Lemons for everybody!

Oh, and Sarah McLachlan lives in my city :-)

I love Friday favorites! I saw Sandhya's bookcases a couple of posts back-I want to do organize mine, too, but need more shelving.

Did you infuse the vodka yourself or do you buy it that way? I have limited "spirits" knowledge...

Sydney-- Did you? We're having it again tonight. Hey-- got a couple of jars of soup to work through. I'm not complaining-- I love it!

Eliza-- Thanks! That makes just another reason I need to get myself up to Canada one day. :)

Christi-- I think you can infuse your own vodka, (like the way Kathryn made pumpkin-infused vodka at Thanksgiving?) but I'm much too lazy for that. We just bought ours and it makes a surprising twist to just about any vodka drink. Wonderful!

Yes I did! I made goat cheese, tomato, and pesto sandwiches with tomato soup. Perfect for a cold evening.

If you take a picture of a girl in a wedding dress coming out of a taxi cab, you must share! I love the idea of a colored shoe. I wore red shoes at my wedding and have been smitten with colored shoes and wedding dresses ever since.
